FAQs

Where can I purchase your work?

Work can be purchased via this website or in person at vendor fairs. Visit the Upcoming Events tab for up-to-date information

How often do you update your stock?

I periodically update this site when larger batches are completed. I will announce site updates on my Instagram (@laguardiaclayworks) and via email to subscribers.

What are your shipping policies?

Ready-to-ship works: Go out every Tuesday and Thursday and ship from LM Cases in Youngstown, Ohio.

Made-to-order items: Current production time is 4-6 weeks

International Shipping: At this time I do not offer international shipping. Check back frequently, as things may change.

I often repurpose boxes for shipping to reduce waste. Because of this, I use a variety of recycled materials.

Do you offer shipping discounts?

Free Local Pickup: Select this option at the end of checkout to waive shipping fees. Use discount code LOCALPICKUP if the tab isn’t showing

Preferred pickup is available at LM Cases in Austintown, OH, The PennOhio Clay Guild in New Castle, PA, but can be at another location if needed. Email me at Marisa@MarisaLaGuardia.com to coordinate times

Do you offer refunds?

I offer refunds for work damaged in shipping or, on the very rare occasion, if the wrong piece is sent accidentally. Please be sure to double-check your order details before purchasing.

Do you offer wholesale, large batch, or custom orders?

I treat all inquiries that deviate from my usual offerings on a case-by-case basis. Here are details about my capacity and parameters:

  • Production time: Large or custom orders typically require around 3 - 5 months, but the more notice, the better. This allows me to plan, coordinate, design, research,  test, and create the works while maintaining my regular production schedule. Luckily, my current studio (The PennOhio Clay Guild/ POCG) provides resources like 3D printers, laser cutters, mold-making materials, large kilns, and other processes that support a variety of orders. With all that said, we are still renovating our space so these facilities are not all immediately available. Studio updates are included in my semi-regular newsletter.

  • Glaze: A house-made glaze is the ideal scenario for large orders though commercial glazes are an option. Keep in mind that commercial glazes are usually more expensive. Custom glazes beyond what I offer are always a possibility but will require more time and testing.

  • Clay: I work in three stoneware clay bodies - dark chocolate brown, speckled tan, and buff white. I typically don't deviate from these offerings. Like custom glazes, alternate clay bodies are an option but will require more time and testing.

  • Deposit: Regardless of size, custom works, large orders, etc, require a 50% deposit to begin production. This helps cover initial design and production costs.

Please email me at Marisa@MarisaLaGuardia.com with inquiries

How do I care for the work?

Each piece is microwave and dishwasher-safe. Hand washing is recommended as some dishwasher detergents contain abrasive materials that can erode the glaze over time.

Anything else I should know?

Please note that each item is unique and handmade. Because of this, some inconsistencies may occur.

Each intentionally crafted piece is infused with supportive Reiki energy that will do no harm. If you do not want your piece to have Reiki energy, please email me at Marisa@MarisaLaGuardia.com before purchasing. This option only applies to made-to-order items or custom works as it will impact the production process.
